If you’re looking for a press that’s truly hands-on, Pace Foundry Press is exactly that. From the very beginning, they’ve been open, encouraging, and incredibly responsive — whether that meant answering my emails at ten at night or taking the time to explain every step of the process. Their communication was always clear and direct, and I never once felt confused or left behind.

When the publishing process wrapped up, I honestly thought that was the end of it. But then something unexpected happened.

They reached out.

Weeks later, they emailed me just to check in — asking how book sales were going, how marketing felt, and whether I needed anything. That level of care is something I’ve wanted from a press since the moment I started writing.

If you’re looking for a team that will stand by your side, ask the right questions, answer a hundred of yours, and support you long after the work is done, you’ve found the right place. Working with Pace Foundry Press has been one of the best decisions I’ve made, and I’ll be returning to them for all my future books.

For as long as I can remember, I've found stories to be the most entertaining thing in the universe. Whether it was listening to my family's stories, reading a stranger's stories, telling my stories to others, or even telling my stories to the walls, I never needed toys or games as long as I had the time and space to imagine.

However, I was raised in an environment where the stories I liked were "too much to handle," and my family frequently told me to hide the ones I read and wrote. Ever since the first time I had to cover the front of a paranormal book with sticky notes for my family's sake, I've yearned for the day I'd be able to share my interests safely and freely. That day arrived when I submitted my manuscript to the Pace Foundry Press.

I genuinely thought I would get rejected on the spot because of the genre of Once Upon A Trail. I am incredibly grateful I was proven wrong. From the first day, the Pace team helped me progress to the publishing stage by offering multiple solutions, keeping me updated regularly, and being flexible with my abilities, circumstances, and resources. I've learned a lot about what hills I'm willing to surrender or die on from working with the Pace team, as well as how to advertise to a specific audience.

Sometimes the Pace team even went above and beyond for me, indulging last-minute requests (like the map of the Pseudomanic Woods) as long as I could meet the new deadline in time. Overall, everyone on the Pace team was really friendly and fun to work with, and if I could continue working with them after I turn 20, I would!

Sunshine Behind the Clouds

The sun shines on all days,

But sometimes,

There are clouds in the way

The sun is everything that loves

Everything that is generous

Everything that is patient

Everything that is gentle

And overall, everything that seeks

To add anything positive to the world

The clouds are everything that hates

Everything that is ignorant

Everything that is impatient

Everything that is cruel

And overall, everything that seeks

To add anything negative to the world

The world is more clouded in some areas than others,

And the seasons will change

The thickness of the clouds as well

My wish for you is that there will always be

Someone or something

To remind you of the sunshine behind the clouds

To remind you of the hope that is there,

Of the love you have

For yourself and others,

Of the treasures you offer

Simply by existing,

Whether you can see it or not.

You may not know it,

But you will always be someone's

Sunshine behind the clouds.

This project, and everyone who's supported me throughout it,

Has certainly been mine.
